 Poetry of a Kentucky mtpoet
12838 Poems Read
Welcome to my poetry page. Take time to read then leave some feedback.
It has been said that my poems lie in a distinguished tradition of American poetry that extends back in time through the recent Modernists (for example, Cummings and, especially, William Carlos Williams) and Whitman even to Anne Bradstreet, whose best short poems were about her native environment and daily life. I have also been called, in the best sense of the word, a romantic. I only hope that I can give you language that is not stilted and does not use artificial inversions. I strive for language that is so natural that you, the reader, will hear, as Williams once declared: "The local is the only universal."
