I was watching the world as the clock ticked by.
The picture was clear, not a cloud in the sky.
Just enjoying the scenery that filled up my eyes--
then somebody changed the channel.

Just a second ago it was clear, blue and bright.
And now, of a sudden, it's darker than night...
and the noise that it made caused a terrible fright--
'cause somebody changed the channel.

Attacked from behind by a cowardly clan.
Destroying and killing as only they can.
Sacrificing so many just to carry out a plan,
Please, somebody, change the channel.

Now the ashes have settled, and our spirits have, too.
But we have to rise up and then start anew,
for the flag's flying high for me and for you,
and it's flying on all the channels.
