I wish I was a bird
So I could spread my wings and fly
So I could fly to the sun and to the moon
Above the earth and below the sky
Where no dream is too high
I wish I was a bird
So I could fly inbetween the ethers
    of you and I
Where our life's wishes lie

I wish I was a bird
So I could fly free
To soar thru the sky of heaven's soul
So I can once again feel whole

I wish I was a bird
Mother Nature's chosen winged angel
That delivers peace from above
All the way from heaven to earth
On the backs of their wings with love

I wish I was a bird
So I could sing beautiful melodies
    in your ear
While sitting atop your shoulder
    in peace above your heart
For I would sing you a song as beautiful
As beautiful as Venus when she was borne
    out of her shell

I wish I was a bird
A bird upon a tree
Who is so simple, so natural, so free
I wish I was a bird
A bird upon a tree
Who is so free to simply be
